KIHUMBE Strategic Plan 2021-2025
Kikundi cha Huduma Majumbani Mbeya (KIHUMBE) means home-based care providers in Mbeya region. We are an ambitious community-based initiative that began in 1991 and officially registered in 1994 to extend continuum care and support services to human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) positive tested persons and people living with HIV (PLHIV) especially those who face stigma and violence. Over the years KIHUMBE evolved into availing preventive care to the community and supportive services among PLHIV across the Mbeya region. As we begin our new five-year phase, we build on the foundation of the rich lessons and experiences. We have learned much and have made some significant changes outlined in this document.
At its epicentre, KIHUMBE endures equality ideals and has set out bold targets to get every community member on track to end HIV/AIDS, stigma and gender-based violence (GBV) in Mbeya region and its vicinities. In addition, we nature the development of community members to reduce dependence and poverty by enabling PLHIV and other vulnerable group to fully engage in the world of work.
